How long has Milex been in packaging?

Milex is a brand name of MXT LLC which began in September of 200; however, principles of Milex have been making biodegradable packaging resin since 1990. Protein based resin has been well tested and is very consistent in its characteristics. It has been widely used by such shippers as Microage Computers, Paper Direct, Silvestre, Bombay Company, and many distributors all around the U.S.

What are the basic characteristics of Milex Packaging Systems?

All natural made from grain protein. Biodegradable by ISO definition. Hydrophobic- thus not subject to shrinkage in humid climates. Strong and anti static – allowing no migration of packed products.

Does Milex attract pests?

No. Part of the processing done by Milex removes all digestibility of the grain; therefore it does not attract mice or other pests.

How may our customers dispose of Milex packaging material?

Since Milex is truly all natural and biodegradable it may be placed in an environmentally active landfill without ANY trepidation. It can be used as fertilizer on plants, lawns, or flowers. It can be degraded by adding water. It can be shipped into those parts of the world that outlaw polystyrene.

How about customer service after the lease is signed?

Milex makes its money on sale of raw material to happy customers! We provide overnight parts shipment for any breakdown, and personal help in trouble shooting any production problems.

Will the cost of raw material increase over the term of the lease?

No! Grain is the primary ingredient of Milex. The price of grain to the producers has seen no upward trend since 1946 according to USDA numbers. Milex maintains a two year supply ahead of processing and can thus price over long terms. The only factors unknown are freight cost from Milex plant in Pampa, Texas to factory site and a small amount of expanding agent used in production that is purchased from other suppliers. Milex predecessor has sold raw material for the same price FOB since 1994.

Will the world price of oil affect our price?

No. Milex includes no petrochemicals.

Does the factory in the trailer have any environmental problems?

No. Milex is made by adding water to a dry grit and extruding in a baked type extruder. The only notice may be a slight smell of cooking similar to the smell of popcorn during the manufacture.
